More than 300 people gathered Sunday in a primary school gym to support the families of the workers of a Worthington meat processing plant that was raided on Dec. 12.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents raided six plants on that day, including the Worthington plant, owned by Swift & Co. They arrested 230 suspected undocumented immigrants.
The event was meant to heal the wounds of a small city that has changed forever.
One woman told MPR that ICE agents “have taken my husband away and I am left alone with my two children.
