St. Paul City Council race updates

The City Hall Scoop has some updates on the City Council races in St. Paul.

Randy Schubring has stepped into the Ward 4 race against incumbent Council Member Jay Benanav.  Benanav hasn’t officially declared he will be running again but he’s strongly considering it.

In Ward 3 book store owner David Unowsky has stepped back from the race after an initial filing.

The currently unopposed races include Council Member’s Dave Thune in Ward 2, Pat Harris in Ward 3, and President Kathy Lantry in Ward 7.

Thune may be trying to cut down his competition by interviewing potential opponents for the aide position, including Elizabeth Dickinson.
