To Surge or Not to Surge, That Is the Question

Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of an outrageous Congress,

Or to send more troops into a sea of troubles, and by escalating the war, end it?

On the eve of Mr. Bush’s next “Mission Not Accomplished” speech, Coleen Rowley calls to task Rep. John Kline for waffling on the “troop surge” issue:

more inside

Our slick 2nd District Congressman John Kline had a hard time last week in answering Minnesota Public Radio’s survey of all ten members of the Minnesota congressional delegation as to their views about President Bush’s anticipated call for a surge of troops in Iraq. Opinions about what should be done about the mess in Iraq varied among nine of the ten Minnesota representatives and senators queried…. The only really surprising thing in the series of MPR interviews with the Minnesota Congresspersons was that, after repeated attempts to get 2nd CD Congressman John Kline (retired Marine Colonel who sits on the Armed Services Committee John Kline) to talk with them, he refused, with a staffer’s lame response that Kline “will sit this one out for no particular reason.

Say it aint so!!! Leigh, I cannot think of a single reason why  a < a href="http://www.minnesotamonitor.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=1051">virtual deity such as yourself could not simply float down from the heavens on a progressive cloud and have all of Iraq riding Schwinns and sucking down lattes one month from now.

Please don’t tell us that a small, flyover town like Mankato is consuming all of the gracious blessings of a god such as yourself!

Gas up the Volvo and get some bike paths in there!

Put SURGE in a VAULT that used to be my FAVORITE drink when I was a kid!!  I think I even gave it up for Lent one time, during one of my less ambitious years.  They came up with a replica called Vault which you can get now that tastes pretty much the same, but for you purists out there, here’s some grassroots advocacy for you: http://www.savesurge.org/surge/index.shtml
