Bill Spotlight: H.F. 12
Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at 11:40 am
This is the first of a series of Bill Spotlights, highlighting bills introduced in the 2007 legislative session.
The office of Lieutenant Governor would be eliminated under a proposed Constitutional Amendment introduced in the Minnesota House of Representatives.
more insideThe proposed Amendment, House File 12, would place the Secretary of State second in line to the Governorship in the event a Governor leaves office, with the President of the Senate third in line.
The bill, introduced by Reps. Phyllis Kahn (DFL-Minneapolis), Frank Hornstein (DFL-Minneapolis), and Mindy Greiling (DFL-Roseville), would take effect on the first Monday of January in 2011, the start of the next Governor’s term.
The bill has been referred to the Committee on Governmental Operations, Reform, Technology and Elections

someone has to say it, so I will let’s PRETEND Pawlenty’s being coy and really is wanting to be on the VP ticket with someone. That means there is a potential Lt. Moulnau upgrade.
And here we are looking at a bill that says that the lt. gov does so little that we don’t even need to have one.
What does this say about the woman who may be gov?

The Lt. Gov. office is pointless If Mae Schunk could handle the Lt. Governor’s job, there’s nothing to it. Period. You could go a different way–give the Lt. Gov. some responsibility for anything other than just waiting for the Governor to die. But if you don’t, it’s redundant.
And no, Carol Molnau being Transportation Commissioner hasn’t helped things, because she disagrees with–and has been overruled by–Gov. Timmy on pretty much everything.

I don’t know What does it mean when the woman who is elected to high government office hires her former boss to hold her hand?
Maybe the answer you’re looking for is that women are just not fit to manage anything more complex than dinner?

thanks for staying on topic, Swiftee but since you’re chatty today, what do you think of the idea of Gov. Moulnau should Pawlenty end up on a ticket? I’d like to hear a bit from conservatives who might know her and her strengths.

Swiftee, You’re a Moron I assume you believe that Michele Bachmann should resign forthwith?
