As a follow-up to President Bush’s speech on troop increas, we have asked Charley Underwood, peace activist, for his reaction.
Watching the president’s speech tonight is a lot like watching a Greek tragedy. You know that the ending will be unspeakably sad, but there is a morbid fascination in watching it all unfold.
more insideThe details:
First, I have done the research and the president just committed an impeachable offense on live television. According to the 1973 War Powers Resolution, Section 4(a)(3), it is against the law for the president to substantially enlarge the US Armed Forces in foreign combat, barring a formal declaration of war or specific act of Congress. Surge and the money support Charlie and All:
Please note the response of Senator Klobuchar to the call for a “surge” AKA an escalation.

Now What Kat Kat and All;
You are, of course completely correct. Amy Klobuchar promised nothing else.
Good question, now what? I can only leave that to the individual Peace and Justice members integrity and conscience. Of course, one thing is to call Senator Klobuchar and “encourage” her to sign on for Senator Kennedy’s Resolution Senate Bill 234. It says, no more money. Full stop.
As for me,, I have already announced that I am runninng for the US Senate again.
I will leave the rest of that for you and other Peace and Justice activists to figure out.
I refuse to support or give cover to the war machine. Both wings of it.
