It wasn’t your great-grandmother’s bread riot.
But considering the demonstration drew only about 50 people, press included, there was a low-burn intensity Thursday outside the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, borne of the gravity of the moment and the novel setting — arguably the most appropriate place locally to protest the monumental bailout of the financial sector proposed by the Bush administration. Simultaneous rallies — coordinated at truemajority.org — took place in other U.S. cities, including St. Paul.
