Campaign returns 2007

St. Paul Ward 2 Council Member Dave Thune raised over $8,700 last year in preparation for his 2007 re-election bid.

Thune, who’s challengers haven’t emerged yet, has mainly received funds from individuals with only $1,000 coming from labor unions and DFL groups. And, no, Jerry Trooien–the Bridges of St. Paul Developer who is expected to play a role in several of the city council elections– is not one of the 95 donors listed. Just over half of Thune’s donors came from outside of the City of St. Paul.

  He managed to keep expenses down, mainly on fundraiser events with $2042 going out the door.  He’s also paid for a website
