Video: ‘Democrat’ Sarah Palin left out of Michigan pullout decision

“To be certain, McCain’s move — or move-out –took all sides by surprise,” writes the Washington Independent’s Sridhar Pappu of John McCain’s decision yesterday to essentially stop campaigning in Michigan. And apparently it was a surprise to Sarah Palin, too. In an interview today, she admitted that she learned of the pull-out from the media: “I read that this morning also, I fired off a quick email and said, ‘Aw c’mon. Do we have to? Do we have to call it there?’” She “broke ranks” with McCain — as Fox News’ Carl Cameron put it — saying she and her husband would be happy to continue campaigning in Michigan. Curiously, while Fox touts Palin’s “maverick” move, Cameron — as MnIndy reader John Moravec noticed — incorrectly identifies Palin as “the Democratic candidate” in the video. Watch it after the jump.
