Al Franken, host of Air America Radio’s Al Franken show, will leave the network Feb. 14, as the network is bought out by Manhattan real estate mogul Stephen L. Green.

According to a report in the Huffington Post, Franken will leave the show to explore his options for a potential U.S. Senate run against Republican incumbent Norm Coleman of Minnesota in 2008.

Franken will be replaced by Thom Hartmann, who currently is on Air America in the 6-9 p.m. slot.

According to a statement on its website, local Air America affiliate AM 950 is considering a variety of options to replace Hartmann.
