State Department Website Interviews Ellison for Publicity

With all the fuss about Keith Ellison’s Muslim faith during and after his successful campaign, the freshman congressman is now being tapped to show the Muslim world that America isn’t so anti-Islam.

The State Department’s Bureau of International Information Programs wrote on Monday a glowing story about Ellison, a Democrat from Minneapolis, and his Muslim faith.

The agency, known as USINFO, is charged with projecting the good image of America to the world, particularly to the regions where U.S. foreign policy has not been popular. Ellison’s interview was translated into multiple languages, including Arabic and Farsi.

Ellison is quoted as saying that he derives his values from “Christian upbringing and Islam.
