Video: McCain’s rage problem

“Cunt.” “Gook.” “Shithead.” These are just a few of the epithets reportedly hurled by John McCain over the years. The Arizona senator’s much-documented hair-trigger temper wasn’t much in evidence at last night’s debate, where a more collected McCain kept referring to his “cool hand at the tiller.” But as BraveNew Films‘ Robert Greenwald illustrates in a new video, more than 30 journalists, politicians and military officers from both sides of the aisle have raised concerns about McCain’s anger. The mini-documentary features retellings of such incidents, including a POW/MIA activist recalling how McCain “backhanded” the niece of a missing soldier and the former chair of the Arizona Republican party saying, “Do I trust him with the button? No.” Most damning, perhaps, is conservative Sen. Thad Cochran of Mississippi who said, “He is erratic. He is hotheaded. He loses his temper and he worries me.”

Funny Norm Coleman doesn’t run an ad about McCain’s profanity as he does about Al Franken’s. Could this be more than coincidence? Politics even? Or is Coleman afraid the peerless leader will lash out at him in the Senate.
Maybe we need Franken as a counterweight to McCain’s overbearing rage.
