Well stated Rasha To the person who criticized me: I can understand why you would be upset when someone attacks someone you respect. My goal is not to get the members of Macs church all hacked off at me. I would prefer if they just dug into their bibles and realize that the things I have heard at that church are not taught in the bible. Ironically you bring up taking scripture out of context, which is the only way you can reach the conclusion that scripture says we should be fat, comfortable, numerous vacation homes, etc. I heard a "special" speaker there once whose main point was give a lot because if you do, God will give you back more. . . . . MONETARILY! It really blew my mind. God has become a good stock broker returning monetary investment at a gain. He used the example of how he gave his plane away because he knew that God would give him a better one. Charity for the sake of more earthly possesions isnt charity, its just business. I have no problem with people making money, but to preach that the ultimate goal of christians is to be comfortable and live a fun, comfortable life is not biblical and wrong in my opinion. It showed with the girl i was seeing. Her life ambition was to move to Lake Placid NY because there a lot of fun things to do there, and just have fun her whole life. I can see how she got that life view from that church. If i die and have done nothing else but have fun and be comfortable, I think i would feel that i wasted my life.

Your Playing Games Robin Come on Robin, this attempt at honoring the churches wishes is a little shallow... you post links to all types of information throughout your site without "permission" yet not one to the churches site where you can watch, download, or get a free DVD of Hammonds message this past Sunday sent to you? In your coverage of this story you link to CREWS posting of confidential documents and post them yourself without "permission"? Also I went to the churches site and read their public statement which I see posted no where on your site? Please don't seek to play the part of being a fair journalistic organization seeking to follow the standard rules of press integrity. Please don't act like you are willing to accurately represent Hammonds churches position...your a blog with obvious and strong progressive leanings and all us readers know it. In fact Jeff Feckes opening sentences in this article which state Hammond "affirmed" many of the charges against him in his message this past Sunday is startling and reveals a clear lack of fairness. Did he watch the same message I did?????? Please stop (You and Jeff) giving others ammunition by being so shallow...your readers are really smarter than that!!

The Filth of the world- Why revival lingers

Until humble self-effacing men return to the pulpits of our churches in the United States and Canada, we will continue to stumble along, until we reach the point where the grieved Holy Spirit is withdrawn from us- like the Shekinah from the temple.

Where has spiritual discernment gone amongst the body of believers? Discernment of the Spirit is imparted to all who belong to the Lamb of God, by the Spirit of God. As a believer grows in grace, so does his comprehension and discernment of all things spiritual. It is part of the Armour of God. God leaves no believer unarmed and vulnerable to the attacks of the enemy- NOT ONE! All of His people are provided with discernment. Whether we listen and heed to his warnings is our responsibility.

My spirit is torn and nauseated by those who preach a false gospel such as you have in your city and state. He and his fellow preachers like Kenneth Copeland and Creflo Dollar, amongst others, will one day have to answer to God- hopefully sooner than later, for the sake of the people of God.

Keep your eyes on the Cross and your face in the Word of God. Listen to the Spirit within you and He will keep you safe in the arms of our Lord. Follow in His footsteps, the footsteps of the Lamb. Together may we all learn to understand the true meaning of the Cross, to truly comprehend its power, to walk

in it's shadow.
In conclusion, let me say that the gospel of health, wealth and prosperity being taught by Mac Hammond is a false gospel. It is not the gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The soul who loves the world and the things of the world is against God. The soul that does this today will learn that the consequences are separation from God,

spiritual darkness and death. The deepest meaning of the cross is not to fulfill one's self and our worldly lusts, but rather

to deny one's self and surrender everything to God.
Pray that God will bring down the proud and those who would lead His people astray.

in it's shadow.

Jesus was rich? I can't find my Bible right now, so I have to ask in which Gospel do we hear that Jesus had two vacation homes?

I also want to know the name of His accountant. I'll bet it took some doing to set up tax-exempt foundations in those days.

So you're a Christian and Conservative? If you were really a christian (which I really doubt, based on your comments), you wouldn't have told the bold-faced lies that you spewed here. ie: "That church promotes things that are absolutely anti scripture." And, "The main point to every sermon ive heard is how God wants people to get rich . . . by giving to the church," ". . . by dumping more than you can afford . . ."

If you had actually attended multiple times, you obviously were not paying attention. Mac usually say that if you feel uncomfortable at the offering, and can't give with a willing heart, then don't give. He does not require you to give. If it was required, you would have had to pay to get in.

Tithing and giving are scriptural. Most churches however, are so afraid of offending anyone by asking for money, for fear that the people won't come back, that they don't say much about why you need to or how it's supposed to be done.

Churches have been teaching for centuries that Jesus was poor, and they take scripture out of context to make thier case. He was not a poor man. Did you know he had a house? He invited His deciples there. He had a traveling ministry. He had a lot of expenses for Himself, His deciples, and all of their families. Judas carried the money bag. You don't need a treasurer if you only have a couple of nickles to rub together - and Judas was stealing from the bag!! Yet all of His needs were met and they had plenty.

You can't find an itemized list or a financial statement, therefore we must assume he was poor?

If you really are a christian, I challenge you to do a real, hard study on what the Bible says regarding wealth. And remember, God takes pleasure in the prosperity of his people. (That's in there too.)

Also, that crack about "the dumb and slow witted, people who dont pick up there bibles" shows you had your eyes shut too. Most of the people there (many with a much higher I.Q. than yourself, I'm sure) have their Bibles in hand and follow along as he preaches, or did you forget that?

So you don't like Mac Hammond. That's fine. Find the church where you belong, and do your part. As a Christian, you should be praying for him rather than jumping on the hog pile spewing lies along with the un-saved.

As a Christian and Conservative, I hope Mac gets shutdown I used to date a girl that went to Living Word. After going there once to here a "special speaker", i was so hacked off i could barely think straight. That church promotes things that are absolutely anti scripture. The main point to every sermon ive heard is how God wants people to get rich and have lots of things, and the way you get that is by giving to the church (funny). So between the numerous passings of the offering plate youre told how you can get every earthly desire by dumping more than you can afford into Macs pocket, for a new plane, or another house in florida, or for one these snake oil sellers new Rolex. Christianity has been reduced to mere American materialism, and regardless of what you think of christianity, that is not what the bible teaches. I took a tape of a sermon and broke it down, main points, scripture used, etc, and tried to refute it to my girlfriend using scripture and common sense. She of course had already drank the cool-aid and would have none of it.

Mac and his whole crew absolutley prey off the dumb and slow witted, people who dont pick up there bibles, or cant put a logical argument together. While the Democrats do it plenty with Jesse Jackson and his like, i still hope Mac goes down hard.

If you want a real preacher, preaching what the bible really says, check out www.desiringgod.org</br>

Pardon my curiousity, brethern . . . Two quick questions:

1. Was it Jesus who chased the moneychangers out of the temple, with some awfully harsh words for what they were doing? Or am I thinking of someone else?

2. Does George Soros operate through a tax-exempt religious organization?

Just another CEO Mac seems to be just another CEO with a sprawling business campus in Brooklyn Park. Just an observation. Perhaps this whole thing has made me appreciate my own Pastor even more and I am sure as more people read this they will feel the same. The automatic deductions off of the congregations credit and debit cards really bothers me. My former best friend has been taken in by this "business". If you visit the website there is even a business directory of the members which I found interesting. She tried to get me to go with her but it just seemed too much even as I entered the door. I struggle every day with where my friend went. I went to a luncheon there and listened to some women members talk. No topic was off limits, abortions, sex, I tried to concentrate on my chicken as the chef is supposed to be very good and I must agree on that.
