Yesterday we reported that four Minnesota politicians have received political contributions from disgraced businessman Tom Petters this election cycle. The campaigns of Sen. Amy Klobuchar ($5,000) and Sixth District Congressional candidate Elwyn Tinklenberg ($500) both stated that they had passed the money on to charitable causes.
Now Rep. James Oberstar, whose campaign has received $3,300 from Petters, intends to follow suit. “After the indictment came down we decided we should give the money to charity,” says Blake Chaffee, Oberstar’s campaign manager. “We haven’t decided which one it will go to yet, but we’re not going to hang on to it.”
Which only leaves the question of whether Sen. Norm Coleman, who received $1,600 from Petters, intends to keep the tainted cash. Calls to both his Washington office and campaign headquarters have not been returned.

Hey, wait a minute, this cash is stolen from the investors on Petter’s fake loan deals. It must be given back to the court for distribution back to the investors not a charity.

Please refer to the following website for fact checking http://www.opensecrets.org . So, Amy gave back less then one percent Petters contributed. Wow, makes her sound so responsible. Oh, you failed to mentioned Petters was her third largest campaign contributor…can’t buy many TV ads with $5000. Last time I checked she received over $70,000 from Petters. Shame on you.
