McCain-Palin using Obama/Ayers attack in Minnesota phone blitz

A moment ago I received a phone call from the McCain-Palin campaign. The woman on the line was already speaking when I answered, telling me that the campaign wanted me to know that Barack Obama “worked closely with terrorist Bill Ayers whose organization bombed…” I cut her off at that point, questioning how closely the pair worked. She told me to have a nice day and, before hanging up, gave the obligatory notice that it was paid for by McCain-Palin at 866-558-2875.

Have you received such a call? If so, were you able to record it? Email me at pschmelzer [at] minnesotaindependent.com.

Update: More than a dozen readers from the greater Twin Cities area have been emailing to report that they’re receiving these calls. Calls began on Tuesday and have been received, apparently by many Democrats, in Blaine, Champlin, Dundas, Fridley, Minneapolis, Prior Lake and St. Paul. One recipient said the male caller alleged that Obama’s campaign was “launched in the living room” of Bill Ayers, a claim Obama disputed at last night’s debate.

The Colorado Independent has the script and audio.

Update 10/17: A reader from Mankato emailed and said she received the call as well — on her cellphone.

Just got the call. They tried twice earlier today. I did not record the call, but the gist was “the McCain campaign and RNC need me to know that Barack Obama has associated with known terrorists….” That was about the point that I hung up.

Do they really think that the American public is in a mood to respond to mudslinging? Are people really going to respond to such a phone call with “oh my, I didn’t know. I’m going to tell all my friends to vote for McCain!”?

Boggles the mind.

Look no further than local” buisnessman” Jeff Larson of the infamous DCI group for this attack on democracy. Their shenanagans go back to supporting dictators, impersonating dead people, false editorials and their specialty astro-turf campaigns. They are dirty dealers for hire. Your election system at work.

Our own Norm Coleman gave DCI 1.5 million dollars for “consultations in the 2008 campaign.
