I can’t tell from the video that anyone stage ever saw the sign, since it was facing away from the stage and toward the camera. Certainly it’s possible the sign holder turned it around at some point or printed on both sides, but I don’t know that. It seems that the comic book the NRSC mailed out that tells kids to open it and then talks about rape and pornography is the much bigger deal. The DFL should hammer the Republicans with that one.

Just for the record, Franken didn’t write sketches about rape. There was a rape joke idea in a brainstorming session, but he wisely opted not to pursue it.

It doesn’t matter that Todd wasn’t holding the sign. Remember, by the McCain/Palin playbook, Guilt by Association is standard operating procedure. If Todd Palin did not DENOUNCE and RENOUNCE those signs, he is guilty as the holders are of the worst forms of character assasination.

What kind of prestige or dignity would the Palins bring to the office of vice president? Would they represent the country in a way that would make all Americans proud? Judging by their conduct so far, the answer is a resounding “no”. They are cartoon characters.

Is Todd’s speech (?) supposed to be helping? He kept repeating himself (stiltedly) and introduced his friend from Minnesota (who cares?).

Anyone who is a mother and a hunter is qualified to be (vice) president?

In all fairness, it appears the ‘Manson’ sign may be shielded from the people on stage by another white sign being held in front. This would of course absolve these two from being complicit while still allowing the ‘Manson’ comparison to be picked up by cameras.

Well Todd’s getting his fifteen minutes of fame,how nice for him. Hope that when he returns to the trailer park in Wasilla in a month or so that he’ll be able to deal with all the diappointment. I’d bet that he has visions of setting himself up in a corner of the Oval Office complete with a card table and telephone, six pack and a slab of moose jerky. Why is this guy even news?

Ohio guy are you sure you’re not a Republican. First you misinterpret the video, then you admit it, but blame the “first photo” for your error. Sounds very Republican to me.
