Fly Air Hammond!

Living Word Christian Center Pastor Mac Hammond has logged more than 56,000 miles in his private airplane in just three months, according to records obtained by Minnesota Monitor.
Hammond has flown 13 times, mostly between Anoka and Destin, Fla., where he maintains one of his vacation homes. He also has logged flights to Albuquerque, Phoenix, Tulsa and Fort Worth.
The flight distance is equivalent to more than two spins around the Earth, or almost a third of the way to the moon.
Hammond has previously defended owning a plane, saying, “The only way we could [visit other churches nationwide] was to have our own airplane.”
Hammond owns two airplanes, but he leases them back to Living Word Christian Center for more than his monthly payments on them.
Minnesota Monitor obtained the information via the website fboweb.com, which provides tracking information for flights.

That might not be all… I’m not sure where fboweb.com gets its data from but if my hunch is right you’re likely only getting information about his flights where he filed an actual flight plan. A flight plan is not required when flying under VFR (visual flight rules) and it’s not uncommon for pilots to not file a flight plan if you’re flying in the local area. In those cases, the only real log of that flight will exist in his personal log book. Your estimates may be significantly lower than his actual flight time.

The key will be to watch for trips to Bachmannistan Keep an eye out for trips that coincide with Michele Bachmann appearances around the country. You know, the higher she and Mac fly, the closer they are to the Lord.
