How can she reconcile saying this of Obama: “I would think that anybody running and wanting to serve in Congress is quite pro-American because that’s what the mission is, to better this country, so I would question the intent of that.”, with what she has said about him at her rallies? Things like insinuating that he ‘pals around with terrorists’ and that ‘he launched his political career in the living room of a terrorist’. Truth be told, Bachmann’s willingness to be so vocal about her McCarthy-like thoughts certainly has much to do with feeling that it is ok and not contrary to the overall tone of the McCain/Palin campaign message. And Palin’s trash talk has a lot to do with that. It is a pretty common phenomenon: make someone comfortable that their bigotry is ‘ok’ and they will come out with it (anyone watch Borat?). Please don’t give Palin any credit on this one. I am a social progressive/fiscal conservative whose relatives survived the concentration camps. She is the closest thing to a Nazi that I have seen in recent years. I do not live in her district, but am donating $$$ to her democratic opponent El Tinklenberg now ! I am so sick of the Republican smear and fear campaign tactics. Enough with the fear.
