Wow, you people are pathetic. Listen to her message about the dangerous path we are heading down, don’t be caught up on her religion. Even those who are not religious agree we are leaving our founding roots toward “progressivism” (aka socialism, aka communism). Do you like freedom or don’t you? If limited government and greater freedoms are a problem for you, if valuing life is outdated, if keeping our virtue as a society who helps and loves their neighbor is old fashioned, go find a socialist nation that will make you happy, and leave the rest of us alone. The really frightening thing about the religious nutbars that keep surfacing in the U.S. is that like Michele Bachmann they are able to get themselves reelected!
Reading the book by American writer Chris Hedges, “American Fascists”, in which he explains the history of the rise of the Christian Right in the U.S. one is left with a cold feeling in their guts as to what the future holds for America, and the rest of the world.
The comments made by Sarah Palin during the recent presidential election which reflect her fundamentalist beliefs show a tremendous amount of ignorance concerning the real world.These people refuse to even accept the existence of global warming as a concept, and are content to sit back and wait for the end of the world, in a biblical sense I guess, wait for the Rapture when all the Christian believers will be transported to stand before the Throne! The rest of us will be left out in the cold.

I’ve wondered how she got reelected; maybe this video gives the answer: A vote for Michele is a vote for God. A claim of Christian values and some “Rah, Rah, God” trumps all other considerations.
But I’m not entirely disappointed – Michele has been, and I expect will continue to be, a valuable source of entertainment.
Note to staff: I think LIFO sequencing of comments would be better.

When is the US going to separate itself from the Third World, and join the Modern World in regards to religion? Have your belief in a higher power if you must, but this “Yahweh micromanages my life” nonsense is not only primitive and infantile, it’s incredibly arrogant.

I cannot understand how perfectly sane people can consider this utterly idiotic person to be remotely qualified to be in politics, much less in Congress. Of course, the only reason most people voted for her is because they too are fundamentalist Christians that take fairy tales written in the Middle East about 2,000 years ago by people without indoor plumbing or electricity as the “gospel truth” (pun intended) and as a road map for the America of the 21st century!
