Today the U.S. Senate passed S. 4, a bill which writes several important aspects of the 9/11 Commission’s recommendations into law.
Both of Minnesota’s senators, Democrat Amy Klobuchar and Republican Norm Coleman, voted for the measure, which passed on a 60-38 vote. Missing the vote were Democrat Tim Johnson of South Dakota, who is recovering from a brain hemorrhage he suffered in December, and Arizona Republican John McCain. McCain is not recovering from a cerebral hemorrage, but is running for president.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty is chairing McCain’s Minnesota campaign committee.
