I have not talked to one Bachmann constituent who has anything favorable to say about her. I hear, "she's a certified nut-burger, Bachmann is crazy, The woman has screws loose in her head, Her views are not the views of her constituents, I would never vote for her, She is absolutely scary, Our district has gone to hell in a hand basket because of her"
This can be unstood after her escapades at the capitol hiding in the bushes (caught on camera) during an opponents rally, fights in bathrooms, crazy, nutty verbage spewing from her mouth, etc. etc. etc.
The woman needs to be saved from herself!!!!!!

The goofs in bachman's district deserve her because they voted for her. She is doing a fabulous job in shrinking support nationally for the Neocon Artist political philosophy. America needs more folks like bachman to run for office so that the GOP can finally be marginalized enough to be good at back-benching and sniping.

Has anyone noticed people taking Bachmann signs out of their yards ? (I am not asking about theft or vandalism ... but are some people now not wanting to display their support.)

Has anyone interviewed those property owners to hear if their support has waned ? I suspect that they would still be supportive but it would be interesting to hear their neighbor's reaction. IF I were Tink or Immelman, I would encourage my door-knockers to go the the neighbor's houses to ask for votes.

THANKS! NICE on the street interviews.

DO give Immelman a chance. He is the Republican alternative for non-Neocon Republicans in MN06. Tell your radical Republican friends they HAVE ANOTHER choice. Write-In Republican Aubrey Immelman, who was Bachmann's primary opponent and after her Anti-American rant has come out to give non-Neocon Republicans a choice!

ECM Publishers, owner of several publications statewide, several covering the MN-06, as well as the hometownsource website, today announced they were endorsing Elwyn Tinklenberg. The editorial group selected El despite interviewing Bachmann (which they cite in the endorsement with some detail.)

This shouldn't come as a surprise as they did endorse Wetterling over Bachmann in 2006, but their reasoning still makes a good read

ultraplops.. you might want to take the @emaildomain.com off your id.

As for the "We don't know Obama" argument? Superficially it might even be valid. But in reality, though congressional voting records are available at house.gov and senate.gov, very very few people actually look at them. It comes down to it, elections tend to vary very little. People look to personality, charisma, sound bites, commercials and a very narrow list of issues. If you doubt that, remember this: Bush 43 was a lame-duck* Governor in one state, Clinton just a governor as well, albeit with more power, 41, a VP, Reagan? just a governor. Carter? same.

Comes down to it, we actually know more about Obama's positions than any of them going into office. His votes are a matter of public record.

* Texas Constitution has hamstrung the position of Governor, giving it virtually no power. Ironically, the Lt. Governor holds more power.

Rep. Bachmann has dishonored her office and brought shame to the Sixth District and the State of Minnesota by calling for a media investigation reminiscent of McCarthy-era witch hunts to “find out [which members of Congress] are pro-America or anti-America.”

We cannot let that stand.

We cannot tolerate this festering brand of neo-McCarthyism in our midst.

We cannot and must not tolerate elected representatives who abuse their high office and play into the hands of our enemies by sowing the seeds of hatred and dividing America against itself.

Why is one of the excuses for Obama is “I don’t know enough about him.” I agree that Obama has been scrutinized during his campaign, however he has been on the national stage for 3 years, 2 of which he was running for the presidency. He basically got elected to senate and almost imidiately decided to run for president, his success quite remarkable considering.

McCain has been on the national stage since I believe 1987 and has run for president before and has a quite lengthy political track record.

Compared to Obama, we know how McCain will act and vote. Obama, who knows, his political positions evolve daily so its hard to say what he will do.

Why is one of the excuses for Obama is "I don't know enough about him." Do they really know enough about McCain then? If you do not know enough about either of them then find out. There is just about as much stuff out there on both of them.. in fact, since Obama's ethnicity, education, resume and religion is so heavily scrutinized I think people know more about him than McCain.. just not always the truth. I think this is a lame argument to why you are not voting for someone. It just says to me that you really have no viable excuse, you just don't like him.
