Stricter voting procedures do not suppress democracy. They help to maintain the integrity of the voting process. Isn’t that what democracy is all about?

Same day registration does not work to prohibit voter fraud, it only increases the chances. We know that there is an election every four years, so get off your butts and register. Why do people need to wait until the day of the election. If democracy is so important to you, take the time to register in advance so that you can be properly checked and added to the roster.

Their website is very limited in contact info. No Phone. No Email. Only a snail mail address. Well Google is your friend, my friend. This address has hosted a number of right wing political organizations : Coalition for Fiscal Responsibility in Government, Minn Citizens in Defense of Marriage to name just two. Apparently Jeff Davis has a lot of time on his hands to push his Moral Majority right wing nutjub fears and wetdreams.

But intimidating voters in our fair state is going to far. His “Minnesota Minority” needs a little pushback.I suggest you contact Jeff Davis and let him know that the majority of Minnesotans don’t appreciate his group’s voter intimidation. Jeff helpfully posted his information earlier this year (ahh google, you betray the intelligence of the rabid right. how dare you?)

Where was here family in Germany during 30′s and 40′s?
She’ll probably win the seat at this point but, it will make it easier to bring these nefarious activities out because she will be a public figure again.

Let her win, then let’s take her down by exposing that she is just a deplorable as Mark Olson. Exposing her racist and suppressive actions is something I think Brodkorb can understand.

Steve, Did MnIndy research these records or did they simply trust Mr. Gelbmann’s statement?

As for getting answers from Minnesota Majority, they might return your calls if they didn’t think you were a partisan pro-Ritchie hack.

You might want to polish those objectivity skills a bit.

Minnesota Majority is a white supremacist group, and as such she probably resigned temporarily since she is running for public office. It does not help a politician to be an official member of a white supremacist group.

Michael: We made numerous simple phone calls to the organization and none was returned. I guess it helps to be a GOP flack when it comes to reaching Mr. Davis or, for that matter, Ms. Kiffmeyer.

Whether Mary Kiffmeyer is still the organization’s executive director or not changes nothing about the thrust of the post, but we would still be happy to get a call back from Minnesota Majority for clarification’s sake.

Steve: I made a simple phone call to the organization and asked. I already knew that she was no longer the executive director, but I wanted to confirm the timeline. Kiffmeyer is running for the legislature and has been for almost nine months. If you or Molly need the number for Minnesota Majority, please let me know.

Now, now, don’t beat up on Mr. Bradkorb. I’m guessing he’s been having a bad year.

Besides, the factoid being protested doesn’t really change the core story, it just changes the hook and puts some of the more entertaining insanity at one level of remove. Referring to the former SoS as a _past_ executive director of Minnesota Majority, and postulating that perhaps her involvement is where MM got the idea to stretch so far afield of their usual, stated areas of concern, would seem sufficient to retain all the tragic-comedic value with minimal rewording.

For example:

The “traditional values” organization of which Kiffmeyer was (changed from “is”) the executive director (add: as recently as nine months ago), Minnesota Majority, has been poking around Minnesota’s voter-registration file, and in a pair of letters to Secretary of State Mark Ritchie’s office over the past week, MN Majority president Jeff Davis claims to have unearthed thousands of suspicious registrations in the state’s voter records.
