"But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life. And who is equal to such a task? Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, like men sent from God." (2 Cor 2:12-17)

This explains perfectly you peoples' seething hatred for Christians and God's Law, and your false claims to be Christians yourselves (some of you...like Obama himself). As Obama has now won the election, I pray that as his and his cohorts' plans for this country unfold, at least some of you will see the wickedness of their ways and truly turn away in repentance, and towards the Truth that is Christ Jesus. May God have mercy of this once great nation...

Well, Matt G., you can't have it both ways. Wearing the Republican label and giving your name to that party means that you endorse it. It means that nothing it stands for, or has said or done, repels you enough as a man and as a Christian to divorce yourself from it. As long as you're willing to call yourself a Republican, you are responsible for what it is and does. As long as you call yourself a Christian, you are responsible for ensuring that the word "Christian" means what it ought to mean, not what the Far Right has portrayed it to mean. The majority of you who claim to be "evangelical Christians but not like them" have sat quietly by while they've co-opted everything you say you stand for. So now they own you. And when we hear the words "Republican" and "Christian," we hear hate, liars, and ignoramuses. Why? Because we've been taught to, by GOP "Christians."

That's what they've achieved in the 30 years it has taken them to move from lunatic fringe to control of the GOP.

You can't have it both ways, baby. If you don't approve, don't register as a Republican, don't vote Republican, and don't give your name to a religion that has come to mean the very opposite of what it was intended to be.

Geee,I thought that these wing-nuts were all looking forward to Armageddon? One would think that they would enbrace the opportunity. Interesting how they try to spin things in whatever direction that they want it to go.

I know that to the non spiritual the truely spiritual always seem crazy. It is because they operate on different spiritual levels.

Not to say that the individuals that are being discussed are truely spiritual but the concept remains the same.

Let's make up an imaginary example.

Ok, someone who prays for God realization and meditates for hours a day. Who listens inwardly to Holy Spirit and who's every action is done in the name of and with recognition of the presence of the Father.

Versus another who's every action is toward sensual fulfillment. Who perhaps drinks, smokes, fornicates, and tries to satiate every lust of the mind.

If the truely spiritual person was to suggest to the truely indulgent person to make positive changes it would fall on deaf ears. The suggestion wouldn't even be considered. The differences wouldn't allow for true communication. The indulgent person couldn't possible understand anything the higher spiritual level person said. It would seem like so much crazy talk.

This is common. It's actually impossible to communicate a non mental reality such as true spiritualism to someone who has never moved past the fulfillment of the ego and animal urges.

To me, I don't agree with channeling the power of the Father toward lower world outcomes. That said, if those that feel differently or know not what they do are working their sorcerous black energy against McCain and Pailin perhaps protection is warranted.

Perhaps I will bend just a little. It's unfortunate that individuals would stoop to making such action necessary. I had truely been avoiding this.

I have a suggestion for anyone who thinks that all talk of religious spiritualism is crazy.

I say this knowing full well that you're thinking that I'm absolutely crazy. Know that I absolutely don't care.

I want you to pick a quiet time. To sit comfortably in a dim room. To close your eyes and inwardly chant to yourself the name of the diety of your birth. Do this until your mind quiets and your hear the inner sounds. Even if it takes a long time or multile attempts. Then learn to listen to this inner sound without incessantly talking to yourself in your head. Once you learn to do this and practice it and experience it come back and tell me how crazy spiritualism is.

If you can't commit to doing this perhaps you shouldn't judge those that can.

I did a keyword search in Dobson's PDF for "homosexual". It was mentioned 38 times. In a 16 page document. I'm not kidding. Fundamentalists must think about homosexuality more than homosexuals.

Matt G, it might be hard to break a long affiliation, but the Democratic Party really is a big tent. Yes, it's more open to secularists, but that's not because it's for the non-religious only, but because it's just more open. There are plenty of Christian liberals around. They';re generally Christians who've learned that Muslims, Jews, Pagans and non-believers are nothing to be afraid of.

Matt G,
Well I wish you wouldn't let that faction control your party. Because I want to like republicans, but it's hard to like someone who calls me un-American and tells me everything I like is wrong. Maybe you could help steer your party back toward their original purpose -- small government, states rights, and land and animal conservation. Stop allowing religion to hijack your party.

As an evangelical Christian and a Republican, I am saddened and embarrassed by examples like these. Please don't judge all of us by those yelling the loudest. They do not represent me, my beliefs or the vast majority of Christians I know.
