Three players on the University of Minnesota football team were arrested Friday on suspicion of raping an 18-year-old woman.
The players, junior Alex Daniels, sophomore Keith Massey, and sophomore E.J. Jones, have not yet been charged. Bail has been set at $100,000.
According to reports, the woman was allegedly raped between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning; further details have not been released.
New Gophers’ football coach Tim Brewster announced that the three players would be suspended pending the outcome of the investigation. “There is an ongoing investigation and we will cooperate fully with law enforcement on this matter,” he said, adding that this was “disappointing news for any coach to receive.”
