Al Franken has a slight lead in the U.S. Senate race, according to two polls released today. The Minnesota Public Radio/Humphrey Institute survey shows Franken opening up a 41-38 edge over Norm Coleman, with Independence Party candidate Dean Barkley picking up support from 17 percent of those surveyed. Public Policy Polling, meanwhile, has it 45-40 Franken, with Barkley at 14 percent.

This comes after two consecutive polls showed the incumbent with a slight lead. What to conclude from this? It’s going to be one helluva close race. And the outcome will likely be determined in these last four days.
