From the many times I've voted in Minnesota, the long lines probably are for registration. Pre-registered voters tend to go in and out quickly. Still, let's not scare people that there's some terrible wait to register. Those long lines were before the polls opened. I doubt the wait was long at all once voting actually started. Minnesota is very good that way. We do need to make an issue of lengthy waits in some states. Like Rachel Maddow's been saying, it's essentially a poll tax on working people, especially people who can't afford to take off several hours unpaid, even if their bosses will respect the law and let them have the time without being fired.

I went. Don't believe the Hype. No line at all. I was in and out quick as I could fill out zillions of little dots. OBTW I asked the election judge and she said I did not have to vote on the Judges with no one running against them. So, just pass em by.

Personally I think the Republicans scare tactic of long lines will backfire. I don't think McCain voters want to wait in line seeing how they have already lost.

One hour wait this morning at Lynnhurst Community Center. Everyone seemed excited and happy to be there.

A similar, stunning early morning turnout at Waite Park school in Northeast Minneapolis. A few hundred people by around seven o'clock. A neighbor who lined up at 6:30 am made it in and out by 7:30. We showed up at 6:50 and left the gymnasium at 8:15. So 60-90 minute wait times.
