A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed Sunday in Saint Paul.  The shooting, which allegedly began with a dispute between different groups of teens, took place on a Metro Transit bus, marking the third violent incident on an MTC bus since March.

The shooting took place on a route 74 bus near the intersection of 5th and Sibley Streets in Lowertown.  The suspect was described as a 16-to-18-year old African American male, between five feet, six inches and five feet, eight inches tall, with a slender build.

The shooting marks the latest in a dramatic and troubling series of Metro Transit attacks.  A man was shot and wounded in early March after a confrontation with a group of riders.  Later that month, a fight broke out between riders over one rider’s use of profane language; the fight ended with the rider being knocked out of the bus, landing on his head and killing him.
