All eyes on Minnesota’s U.S. Senate race

So watch the Senate tonight. Minnesota will be a bellwether. If Al Franken defeats Norm Coleman, America will be in for a long dark night.

That’s the level of dread with which Forbes magazine’s Digital Rules blog is keeping its green-shaded eyes fixed on the U.S. Senate race in Minnesota tonight. And already, Forbes’ Rich Karlgaard has been proven correct about the “dark” part, as night falls across the Midwest. As for “long,” the current consensus among the Web commentariat is that this is the race to watch … and watch … and watch … during a very long night in what many now say will be the closest contest in the country.
