Let’s just hope that the next four years are actually a CHANGE like Obama promised in his campaign. and, the only way to ensure that is for the American people to hold his feet to the flame and make sure our wants and needs are at the forefront. KEY ISSUES, folks, NEED TO BE WHAT HE EATS FOR BREAKFAST, LUNCH AND DINNER. This guy nails it. Check it out.

No speculation required. It is a forgone conclusion that Pawlenty will run for president in 2012. The more immediate question will be if he is also going to run for governor in 2010. Does Minnesota want to elect a no-show governor for two years just to give him a base to run for president. Minnesota needs a full-time governor, not a president wannabe. Will Pawlenty pledge to serve his full term in 2010? By the way, why didn’t McCain pick Pawlenty as his VP?

I’m mystified by the talk about Pawlenty having a political future on the national level. Yes, he is telegenic, and sells his conservatism intelligently. But based on the Republican Party’s adoration of Sarah Palin, intelligence is not what the party is looking for. More importantly, he hasn’t got any real clout in Minnesota — he has yet to win the votes of more than 46% of the vote, and has had no coattails, as the growing number of DFL state legislators shows.

And 2010 isn’t such a mystery. There’s no office for him except governor; all DFL congressional incumbents won easily. So it’s guv or fishing.

He has his eye on the prize with a scheduled trade mission to Israel, well down on this list of Minnesota trade partners. Upping his foreign policy creds on our dime, though he can probably see Canada from his fishing house.
