Ouch. Canada’s Globe and Mail says Minnesota is the new Florida — although just because of the upcoming recount in the Coleman/Franken race. Today’s New York Post, calling our electoral drama a “Minny Series,” says that Republicans are dubbing Secretary of State Mark Ritchie “a Democratic version of Katherine Harris, the ex-Republican secretary of state in Florida, whose actions, some believe, helped George Bush win the 2000 presidential election.” (That same epithet was hurled at Ritchie’s predecessor, Republican Mary Kiffmeyer, on more than a few occasions.) Ritchie will likely be in the crosshairs for some time: The Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee has released talking points targeting what it characterizes as his “Liberal Partisanship.”
As GOP targets Ritchie, a meme is born: Minnesota = Florida

They were always going after Ritchie regardless. They must have seen the same things as the rest of us that indicate the recount is a bit more likely to go to Franken than Coleman, and they’re trying to game the system to stop the recount, as well as undercut the legitimacy of both Ritchie and Franken.

Ho hum, Republicans trying to game public perception…
Wake me up when Franken wins.
