At Thursday’s national meeting of Republican governors, Minnesota’s Tim Pawlenty apparently took a potshot at his could’ve-been running mate, John McCain. According to MSNBC, he said, in reference to public perceptions about the GOP’s negativity:
“When did you see Reagan get angry,” Pawlenty said, adding that the 1980s president was positive and strong. “People want to follow mostly positive leaders; they don’t want to follow cranks,” he said, an apparent reference to McCain, which was met with scattered laughs from the crowd.
The conservative site Human Events says Pawlenty’s use of the c-word drew gasps, and many in the crowd weren’t sure to whom he referred. Sarah Palin also took the stage today, decrying our country’s addiction to “opium” (OPM or Other People’s Money, a reference to bank bailouts) and explained the GOP’s losses on Nov. 4: “God is in control, and He decided it was not our time and not our moment.“

I don’t believe TPaw was referring entirely to John McCain. He was referring to himself. Anyone who sees and hears TPaw’s public outbursts, not just the little sound bites, knows that he is an expert at crankiness. His could even be, if not the King of Crankdom, the Prince of Crankdom. His distinction in the kingdom of cranks is that his crankiness is colored by a polished whiney adolescent style of crankiness. When TPaw’s cranky he finds a microphone and a camera and and proceeds to sound and act much like the spoiled teenager who crys out “I hate you” to his parents as he stomps off to his room and slams the door to plot his revenge when he doesn’t get his way. Just ask the Minnesota Transportation Bill “Override Six” about the crankiness of the Prince of Crankdom…

Well thank God…..God made the right decision this time.
Didn’t he tell Bachmann to run for Congress. Or was she hearing things.
