Hotdish Wednesday: GOP Debate Even Livelier on the Liveblogs

Well, another debate is under our belts, and Minnesota Monitor wasn’t the only group out there blogging what turned out to be a very lively debate starring GOP president-wannabes.

We like to believe that we have the snarkiest liveblogs on the left, but who holds that honor for the right?  Although Fraters Libertas gave an amusing, albeit non-committal pass at a quickie, the award goes to Freedom Dogs with special guest David Strom.  With discussion that ranged from “boobies” to Tommy Thompson as a cyborg to Mitt Rommey’s hair and back to “boobies,” the Dogs and guest made a very long debate…well, still very long, but a more interesting read.

Better luck next time, Fraters.

As for liberal debate reaction, Americablog says it best: “I think it was the first time my tv was on FOX News for more than 30 seconds.”

Carpetbagger has a more rousing reaction, including a note on the discussion of human rights.

These candidates not only endorsed torture in a high-profile, nationally-televised forum, but the crowd loved it. Romney not only endorsed the human-rights abuses at Guantanamo Bay, he said, “[W]e ought to double Guantanamo,” in part so that detainees “don’t get access to lawyers they get when they’re on our soil.”  This, too, garnered considerable applause.
