Changes Under the Hood at Minnesota Monitor

Software updates to the SoapBlox platform used by Minnesota Monitor are complete, but don’t worry — these changes are under the hood, and we hope they’ll enhance your reading experience.

Changes to the way RSS feeds are maintained mean that tracking blogs and mainstream news sites will be easier (Don’t worry, we’ll get those feeds updated presently).  But the big change is the new user and tag feeds:  Let’s say you want to read all of Paul Schmelzer’s material (and who wouldn’t?).  Click a story by Paul, then on his byline, and then add “&feed=rss” to the URL.  Alternately, click here to get the idea of what the url should look like.  What you’re looking at is Paul’s material, accessible via any RSS utility.  The same thing can now be done with a particular tag:  want to keep track of our Politics and Money tag?  Click here, and see how the URL works.

In conjunction with these software updates, we’ll be rolling out some slight changes to the layout, so keep a close eye on this space!

[UPDATE]:  We’ve gotten several messages about the blue backdrop — hit CTRL+F5 to do a hard refresh and the white backdrop should show up.  Sorry for the confusion!

Hard to read Hey, I love your site but this blue backdrop makes it really hard to read.
