Hotdish Monday: All About Us

We would like to thank everyone for being so patient with us as we had our site upgrade last week.  As always, nothing can be upgraded without a few bugs popping up, and thank you for all of your notes, which helped us identify and resolve those issues (especially our blue background and commenting problems).

We hope that you find the site much easier to read and navigate, and would like to point out a few small changes in layout.

Our columns are now divided into “Featured Stories” and “Quick Hits.”  Weekly columns from our reporters will be included in the right-hand “Quick Hit” column to allow more room for our reporting.  We’ve also increased our slots to five in order to allow more reporting on the front page.

Paul Schmelzer’s popular Media Monitor series can be found in its new permanent home, as the second entry on the right-hand side.  Be sure to look there daily for new updates, or subscribe to the Media Monitor RSS feed, which can be found here.  Also, each author now has his or her own RSS feed, so if you can’t get enough of one of our reporters, be sure to subscribe by clicking on that author’s name and then RSS.

Meanwhile, while we have been busy dotting our i’s and crossing our t’s, our sister sites have been doing fantastic coverage on their respective sites.  Be sure to check out Iowa Independent’s interview with John McCain, and Colorado Confidential’s coverage of the world’s worst press release.

What happened to Leigh Pomeroy ? Change for changes sake does not infur improvement.

Where;s Leigh ?  There ere a lot of Mankato-ites who regularly Monitor-ed your site for the Southern Minnesota perspecitve.  I hope that MM doesn;t become another Twin Cities exclusive.
