The recount picture in Minneapolis continues to get stranger. In scouring a warehouse this morning for the missing 133 ballots, election officials apparently discovered other votes that haven’t yet been included in the recount. Here’s the report from MPR’s Curtis Gilbert:
Minneapolis election officials are still searching for 133 ballots that city officials believe to be missing, as they finish the recount in the U.S. Senate race.
During their search this morning in a Minneapolis warehouse, they found a thin unopened envelope that could contain uncounted ballots from another precinct.
This latest development can’t be a welcome one for top Minneapolis election official Cindy Reichert, who’s already had a rather rough week.
Update after the jump.
The envelope, a thin Ziploc-style bag, contained “less than 20″ ballots, apparently absentee ballots sent in by overseas voters, according to the nonpartisan group Citizens for Election Integrity.
