Obama unsullied by Blagojevich scandal

The Republican Party is looking to spoil Barack Obama’s transition honeymoon by tying him to disgraced Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich and his comically brazen attempt to sell off the president-elect’s former Senate seat to the highest bidder. This weekend the Republican National Committee released a web video raising questions about Obama’s connections to the disgraced politician and insinuating that there’s some sort of cover-up taking place. But according to a poll released today by the Washington Post and ABC News, the effort isn’t gaining traction with the general public.
According to the poll, 76 percent of respondents expressed approval of the Democrat’s handling of the transition period, with even 59 percent of Republicans sharing this view. In addition, 51 percent of those polled indicated that Obama had done enough to explain any discussions that his representatives have had with Blagojevich regarding the Senate seat, while 34 percent believed that the president elect needs to be more forthcoming about any communications.

I believe you might want to reconsider being called “independent”. The only person “spoiling” Obama’s transition honeymoon is Blago. Let’s put blame where it belongs.
Also, it would seem fair to point out as it relates to polls that according to Rasmussem today 68% of U.S. voters say it is likely President-elect Obama or one of his top campaign aides was involved in the unfolding Blagojevich scandal in Illinois.
This kind of biased reporting is pitiful.

Americans are ready to move past this sort of partisan bickering, knit picking, and conservative vindictiveness. Barack Obama won the presidency fair and square, Gov. Blagojevich is the accused (and the only accused) person in this story, so disgruntled Republicans need to sit back, chill out, and accept it. Obama will be your president come January 20th, he’ll live in the White House, he’ll control the polices, and maybe finally we can all get back on track. Stop trying to make something out of nothing. Good Lord!

Obviously Obama is not in the same state as Blagojevich. Blago is just another routine illinois politician, down and dirty, same old same old. Obama is a totally different. He could swim down a sewer pipe naked and come out pure as the driven snow. Too bad he isn’t Catholic, the Pope could declare him a saint tomorrow. Maybe he’s god but the democrats have a problem with God, so it would not be politically correct for him to make the claim. But he has the presence. If he made a speech asking or commanding his followers to drink poison, about half of the democrats would be dead before morning. But the Blagos and other eternal politicians would still be operating, same old same old
