DFL should’ve ran Terri Bonoff (sp)…that was my thought from the start…a bit of Monday morning quarter backing, but she would’ve won and held the seat for a long time…now there is a very right-wing conservative in a seat where he doesn’t really fit with his constituents, and who will be retiring in the seat…too bad for the residents of the 3rd!!!

It will be interesting to see if Erik decides to represent “all of us” here in the 3rd CD, or only thoise that are officially deemed “one of us”.

Thanks for pointing out how badly the Fix missed this one. It might have been a surprising win, but it wasn’t a “best campaign” by any other standard. Contrary to Cillizza’s claims, Paulsen rarely talked about his record, but instead declined invitations to explain his right-wing voting record. Paulsen won by relying on a steady stream of negative ads filled with innuendos and outright lies. Shame on us that it worked, but shame on Paulsen for the way he ran this ship. After this mudfest Paulsen needed a shower, not an award.
