As a long-time reader of the Pioneer Press, I was shocked that they actually chose to re-print the sleazy editorial from the WSJ. The latter is one of the finest news organization in the world, but when it comes to their editorial page...fuggetaboutit. The PP editorial page has generally done a good job commenting on the recount, but the paper's decision to use the WSJ editorial, with all of its bogus points and inflammatory language, raises questions about the motives and judgement of St. Paul's only daily. We expect such trash talk from local columnists like Joe Soucheray, but do we really need to import that kind of drivel from The Big Apple?

That the Pie-in-Ear Press would publish such misinformation should come as no surprise. Remember, this is the same rag that regularly publishes the tripe of Taxpayers League mouthpiece Craig Westover, a second-rate blogger and wannabe writer who once caused the paper to issue a correction in one of their political endorsements due to false information provided by Westover.

And speaking of endorsements, this is also the same Jell-O-Spined editorial page that declined to endorse a candidate for president last year! They may as well farm out the editorial page to India along with the rest of their editorial work. This newspaper, like its shameful competitor across the river, is but a shell of its former self. I'd put both in a death pool for 2009.

is it any wonder that the pioneer press, and, the strib are on the skids. i used to read the strib's editorial page every day, now, i hardly ever read it. both papers endorsed coleman, so, it is little wonder about this latest post by the pioneer press. all through the re-count process the strib's coverage was lousy. they failed over and over to give us a correct and complete report of the process. the only reason that we give the fourth estate the privleges that we do, is so that they can keep the public informed, both papers have failed as far as the recount is concerned.
