Line up the absentee ballots that can be counted, they favor Franken, probably even in the
conservative precincts.

Is it possible that this just the first step in getting a provisional certificate?

I see merit in having the Coleman suit settled by the Court, because Franken is going to have a tough row to hoe anyway, and with a judgment in his favor, there will be less of a cloud over him.

But in the meantime, Franken should be seated provisionally. Perhaps his request for a certificate was just the first step in the process.

Franken shouldn't have asked. Ritchie is right about the law, and he's been upfront since declaring his candidacy for the office that he would be nonpartisan in how he did the job. He's progressive in improving elections and protecting voting rights, but he can't and doesn't pick sides when running an election. I think Coleman's suit is without merit, but he has the legal right to bring it. Franken might do best to request that court proceedings be web streamed, though I doubt the court would agree.
