Norm Coleman’s Senate offices will remain open until Feb. 4. The Senate voted unanimously yesterday to provide Coleman’s staff with additional time to tie up loose ends and transfer constituent cases to other legislators. Coleman had sought a 60-day reprieve.

“The passage of the resolution will allow staff to work closely with members of the Minnesota congressional delegation to ensure constituents’ urgent matters are addressed,” Coleman spokesman LeRoy Coleman told the Star Tribune. The Republican’s Washington and Minnesota offices were initially ordered closed on Jan. 5 after the state Canvassing Board certified Al Franken as the winner of the U.S. Senate contest.
