Hatch’s ad in the governor’s race sounds like a great AG ad

Mike Hatch, DFL endorsed candidate for governor, has finally started spending his reserves of campaign cash.
Hatch and incumbent Republican Tim Pawlenty have been racing to raise funds throughout the campaign season but both have been cautious on spending. Both candidates are very confident and heavily favored to win the primaries and neither was very concerned about endorsement challenges.Independence Party candidate Peter Hutchinson has already spent more than he’s taken in.
Now, however, that more Minnesotans are getting into a political mindset the ads are starting to come out.
Earlier this week Pawlenty’s first ad of the season was shown on TV, while Hatch gave his supporters a preview via e-mail.
Hatch’s ad focuses on his rural connections and work as Attorney General.
The ad features Hatch’s family and a shot of him hunting with the family’s golden retriever who’s been featured often, in fact his pets have their own page on his website. http://www.hatch2006.org/AboutMike/Dogs.html
He talks about his work at Attorney General saying that he sought to lock up sexual predators, forced power companies to turn the heat back on and fought for 2nd amendment rights.*
This is a great Attorney General ad and anyone who got up for popcorn before the last 5 seconds or so would assume he was running for AG again. It doesn’t say anything about what would make him a stand out governor or what makes him best for that part of the job, just what makes/made him a good Attorney General.
