ERJ: TMI?

Reviews are mixed on Ember Reichgott Junge’s choice to put a 5:47 personal video up on YouTube. On one hand, the spot gives an intimate look at the candidate–her father’s death (he was a fine singer), her views on Minnesota, her belief that she’d never marry–in moments of honesty rarely seen on the campaign trail. But on the other, it could come off as manipulative and egocentric. With a woodwinds-heavy soundtrack and a few moving stories told with voice-breaking emotion, the video offers lots of personality, in incredible detail, but unfortunately very little in the way of policy information that might actually inform voters.
