Kristen Boyne, 32, was walking home from her job at Calhoun Square at 11 p.m. Thursday and decided to stop at a nearby grocery store to buy ice cream. Before she could make it into the store, two men beat her, leaving her unconscious.

Boyne says the men called her a “dyke.” When she responded, “What did you say to me?” the pair punched her repeatedly and kicked her in the stomach. She was taken by an ambulance to a Hennepin County Medical Center where doctors said she suffered from a severe concussion.

“These two men attacked me, and for what reason? Because they think I’m a lesbian?” Boyne told KSTP. “Which maybe I am, but what’s the difference?”

Minneapolis police are investigating the incident as a possible hate crime and urge anyone with information to call Sgt. Bruce Kohn at 612.673.2941.

Not saying that this young woman deserved to get get injured but I am guessing that she more likely got beat for some criminal activity. She has a record police record in two states. She also was caught stealing lottery tickets from a gas station that she worked at. Again, no one deserves physical harm but this most likely wasn’t a hate crime against her being gay- more likely it was due to her screwing someone over….
