I dunno, it doesn’t seem that crazy to me.
At least we can prove that Laura Wilder existed.

If he really feels this connected to someone else’s beliefs
then I don’t think it’s inaccurate to call that person his “prophet”
or his “god”. Personally I think he’s better off worshiping
a decent person than worshipping any number of crazy deities already out there.

Actually, this sounds a lot less crazy than a man who creates people imperfect, expects them to live up to his standards, so he makes a deal with himself to sacrifice himself. John, you should have called her a prophet or “God incarnate”.

as a friend of john charles wilson i may not agree with everything he says but i agree with

his rights to say them. anybody who questions his sanity needs to reevaluate their own sanity

because i find him to be more intelligent then then most of the so called sane people people

whatever sane is supposed to be.

I didn’t know it, but damn — growing up worshiping Wilder’s books is the closest thing I’ve come to a religion, no kidding. I think a lot of LIW researchers/historians might say the same. You go — but I think you might have better luck at another Wilder site than in Mpls, maybe try running for mayor of Decorah, Iowa?
