When I worked at MSP I loved that system. It unlike other cities actually connects places people want to go. Expand over to St Paul, University and even Stillwater & St Cloud and the other burbs and goodby traffic jams, and costly repairs. If Stimulus targets shovel ready green transportation job creation your light rail should be the national poster child for my money. To waste it on the old infrastructure is just foolish. I loved the rail network in Europe, we need simular here, and your State is on the right track. My state has the Packers but no clue to the future. We need your state to show us some leadership. Meanwhile the freeways we have are pounded into rubble and the rail transit will not get funded. Look for more bridges to fall and undrivable existing freeways. A wasted expansion of highways to foreclosed housing sprawl projects and out of business suburban car dealers is just stupid.Couple that with Pawlenty o Stupid's state budget and we are hosed. Next to nothing for transit, and a huge MNDOT highway expansion plan.
