Stimulus package: thousands of jobs on the way?

The $787 billion stimulus package that President Obama is signing into law today will supposedly create or save 3.5 million jobs across the country. But how many of these shiny new gigs and imperiled livelihoods are expected to materialize in Minnesota? According to an analysis released by the White House today, that number is 66,000.
The study also breaks down projected job growth by congressional district. The biggest winners: the 6th Congressional District (9,500 jobs) and the 2nd Congressional District (9,200 jobs). Incidentally they’re both represented by legislators — Michele Bachmann and John Kline — who voted against the measure.
The analysis was done by Christine Romer, chair of the Council of Economic Advisers, and Jared Bernstein, chief economist for the vice president.

In your other story today on Bachmann, http://minnesotaindependent.com/26721/bachmanns-statements-on-stimulus-raise-a-few-eyebrows, didn’t she say Democrats rigged it so Republican districts would lose out? She had no proof of course, but this would seem to require her to make a correction.
No, I’m not holding my breath either.
