So says MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann. He spent seven minutes fact-checking Republican U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann’s recent interview with KTLK’s Chris Baker. Olbermann pulls in Chris Hayes from The Nation to add some analysis to the critique of Minnesota’s most conservative member of Congress.

The comments of “Disgusted Republican” following another Bachmann article elsewhere on this site are relevant here as well. I hope he or she does not mind if I share them.

Yes, fact-checking would be nice, but first you need real reporters. What’s at least as sad as what bachmann said is the fact that it went unreported in the two major metropolitan daily newspapers and all tv and radio stations serving her district–with the exception of the decrepid, hate-mongering station where she first spewed these lies. It’s been the work of volunteer bloggers to report it to her constituents.
As for those blaming Minnesota for re-electing her, please restrict your finger-pointing to that portion in the northern part of her district inhabited by inbred KKKhristians, anti-abortion zealots, creationists and homeschoolers. The more enlightened parts of her district soundly rejected her in both her congressional elections.

Now here is fertile ground for dialogue between rational Republicans and Rational Democrats. Michelle Bachmann does spew lies and the news media has been derelict in its duties. I would also add that Kieth Olbermann has an obnoxious delivery style and is very uncomfortable to watch. I may agree most of the time with his substance, but his style gets in the way of his message.
If it is true that there are enlightened Republicans in other parts of Bachmanns district that realize how damaging Michelle Bachmann is to the near term prospects of the Republican Party then they will need to get up north and dialogue with the lost souls of CD6. They are not hard to find. They tend to congregate in congregations.

Who is Keith Olbermann?

Oh, I just googled him. He’s a moonbat.

William Wallace, do you watch NBC news? Do you watch NFL football? Did you watch election coverage? And you don’t know who Keith Olbermann is? I think you could spot a moonbat quicker if you looked in a mirror.

To the people of Minnesota,
There are some really horrible people in congress but MICHELLE BACHMAN is the absolute looniest, nastiest and so far out of touch with the human race.
SHAME on all people who voted her to represent you.
I really hope the people in her district are NOT as mentally challenged as her!
