bryn-mawrMinneapolis Public Schools will receive an infusion of $34 million from the recently passed economic stimulus package, according to a breakdown released by the House Committee on Education and Labor.  That’s the largest pile of education money headed to the state, but the St. Paul school district is a close second with almost $31 million expected for its coffers. The state’s largest school district, Anoka-Hennepin School District , is slated to receive just more than $12 million.

The federal money is split between two programs  aimed at improving education achievement for disadvantaged students. Title 1, Part A funds are directed at schools serving poor kids, while IDEA grants are directed at programs for students with disabilities.
