Video: A 15-foot sideways geyser erupts in Paulsen’s Washington, D.C. office

paulsen-leak-stillA leak was discovered in U.S. Rep. Erik Paulsen’s Washington, D.C., office today. (Literally, as Vice President Joe Biden would say.) See a video clip shot (and nicely edited!) by Paulsen’s young, giggling staff. The clip, posted after the jump, shows water shooting out of the wall.

Politico has the story (hat tip to City Pages’ Blotter), including the data point that at the worst moment, the sideways geyser was shooting out 15 feet from the wall.

The incident, while disruptive, fits the profile and demographics of Paulsen and his west Metro congressional district: watery, and — considering that Iceland and Yellowstone National Park are among the very few places geysers are found — Scandinavian-American.

This looks like someone was attempting to mount something to the wall and hit a water pipe behind it. Note the six holes above this one.
