Media Column Slaughtered?

The Daily Mole breaks news that Brian Lambert’s media column at The Rake is no more. Lambert and “To the Slaughter” co-conspirator Deborah Rybak will be starting up a new media blog at Mpls.St.Paul sometime soon.

“They offered him more money,” said Rake publisher Tom Bartel in an email. “I told him to take it.”

One source close to Lambert said it was a “ridiculous sum of money,” adding, “Good for him!”

Is the departure an indicator of the magazine’s health?

“[W]e’re not doing any worse than anyone else as far as I can tell,” said Bartel.
