Pat Robertson on I-35, the “Way of Holiness”
Monday, December 03, 2007 at 11:40 am
As Andy Birkey wrote last week, evangelicals from Laredo, Texas, to Duluth, Minn., are holding “purity sieges” along the length of Interstate 35, believing that the roadway will be pivotal in a transformation of America. They cite Isaiah 35:8: “And a highway will be there; it will be called the way of holiness.” The Daily Mole offers more explanation, through a clip from Pat Robertson’s 700 Club TV program.

Wondering Isn’t this just another form of the adopt-a-highway program, where they pick up the cast-off retreads, bag litter, plant wildflowers and chop down the billboards? Sounds like a good idea to me!

Was This a Set-Up? I’ve been watching this story for several days and there are some things that have eluded me: 1.I can’t as yet come up with a response from the Dallas Voice about the homosexual incident and 2. I can’t find out a thing about “James Stabile” in the news. Sofar, everything has been from blogs.
Something is definitely not right: a twinky 19 year-old (admittedly drunk) is hopping from bar to bar on his way to his “fiance’s” place, gets zapped by the Holy Spirit, then has no more sexual thoughts of men.
And just happens to get videoed.
Nope.
I can’t help but want to get to the bottom of all this.
If there’s any follow-up, please let me know.

One more thing: “Siege” is defined as an act of warfare. This military stance by “Christian” ministries is too much: recently, a teen group called “Battlecry” staged an event in San Francisco. Neither the City Board of Supervisors nor the Mayor bought any of it and asked them not to come for next year’s rally. They expect us to be tolerant of intolerance.
Too much.
